We had a nail in the tire of our CRV. Even though it was near the end of the day and they were very busy they got us right in and out in 20 minutes. Problem solved I'll use them again
They did a wonderful job and had me back on the road quickly
I needed an alignment done on my car & was staying at the Days Inn right next to Monro so I decided to use them out of convenience. I explained to them that I needed the alignment due to someone running over a pipe with my car and knocking it out of alignment. I think that by me telling them why I needed the alignment they saw me coming from a mile away. They called and told me I needed new ball joints. For the ball joints and the alignment it would cost me $678!!! I told them I'd use my regular mechanic for that. So my regular mechanic calls me while he has my car & tells me there's absolutely NOTHING wrong with my ball joints and if there had been something wrong with them then Sears Auto would've noticed it when I took it to them for an alignment & was told I needed a wheel bearing (which was correct & my personal mechanic changed it for me). He said it would've been one of the first things Sears noticed. So I decided instead of taking it back to Monro, like I had planned on since they were $20 cheaper than Sears, I'd just go ahead & take it back to Sears. I explained to Sears what had happened with being told I needed ball joints. They said whenever they do an alignment they check three things in this order...ball joints, tie rod ends, wheel bearings. They went ahead and had the mechanic check the ball joints again and I was told for the third time by THREE different mechanics that my ball joints were FINE. So three out of four mechanics said they were fine and one, Monro, said they were bad. I honestly think they were trying to get $678 out of me! I will NEVER use them again!
If you're looking to get ripped off and price gouged like no other than this is the place. I stopped here awhile back for brakes/rotors and was very displeased when they tried to charge me over $1300! That pricing was based off of their "brake pad special" they were running at the time. That's pretty incredible, especially when your local mom and pop shops can do it for $600-$700 max. Then today I dropped my truck off before they had even opened, after calling them the evening before to explain the situation with the vehicle. I clearly stated what needed done and when i needed it done by (vacuum pump or brake booster and an oil change/filters). Needing my truck back by 4pm to go to work, I gave them a call around 3pm to find out they had gotten nothing done to it all day because they couldn't find the part! I called the local ford dealer right down the road, acquired the part, and did all of the work myself for $200. Monroe said it was going to cost me $600-$700 for the job. I understand turning a profit but to reach so deeply into your customer's pocket is not good business. I can't imagine the countless customers they've taken advantage of with their pricing. If you know what you need done going in, do your research or just go somewhere else because these guys are all about making money than fixing your problem cost effectively.
Great group of fellas working there! Friendly and willing to go the extra mile.
